<div itemprop="description">Alma Jenette Ogden age 94 of Amherst passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2016 in the comfort of her home, while surrounded by her loving family. <br> <br>Alma was born on August 14, 1922 in Oxford, she was a daughter of the late Walter E. and Charlotte H. (Clyborn) Miller. <br> <br>Alma was a faithful member of the Trinity – St. Stephen’s United Church for many years and enjoyed her time as a past district Deputy Grand Chief and a 67 year member of the Pythian’s Sisters, Elizabeth Temple # 6, a past member of the Eastern Star, as well as past Regent of the El Shabah Temple # 21 Nomads. <br> <br>Alma will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jim (Doris) and Joyce Wilson both of Amherst; grandchildren, Sean Harrison and Jennifer (Kevin) Girouard; six great grandchildren, Tyson, Riley, Katelyn, Dana, Grace and Charly; sisters, Pauline Thompson, Halifax, Jean (Hebert) Parnell, Lennoxville, PQ and Sharon (Bill) Croft, Oxford; brother, Hugh (Pat) Dixon, Liverpool; <br> <br>In addition to her parents, Alma was predeceased by her husband, Douglas N. Ogden in 1989; infant son, Walter; sister in infancy, Joyce; brother, Leon; step father, Clarence Dixson; step mother, Christine (Bell) Miller; and son in law, Jerry Wilson. <br> <br>A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, November 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Pythian Sisters tribute service at 7 pm. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jean Ward officiating at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906.
