<div itemprop="description">The family of Barbara Ida O’Neal age 88 of Brookfield, formerly of Amherst announce her peaceful passing on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 with her family by her side at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. <br> <br>Born in Dorchester Cape, N.B. She was a daughter of the late John and Ida (Buck) Read. <br> <br>Barbara is fondly remembered by her children, Dianne (Barry) Parent, Marilyn (Pat) Renaud, both of Stewiacke, NS, Sharon O’Neal, Terry O’Neal both of Edmonton, AB and Deborah (Ian) Denny of Stony Plain, AB ; 6 grandsons, Michael (Teresa), Bryan (Tracey), Shane (Amanda), Brett (Suzanne), Shaun (Ashley), and Scott (Jessie); 5 great grandchildren, Aidan, Brooklyn, Carson, Connor and Ella; sisters, Ella Sears, Shirley McCarthy and half-sisters, Bonnie (Roger) Blanchard all of Sackville, Cheryl Read of Moncton, NB and Susan (Don) Wheatly of Edmonton AB; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family. <br> <br>She was predeceased by her husband James Arthur O’Neal in 2004, step- mother Mary Elizabeth; brother, Ronald Read; sister, Gertrude Wilson; half-brother, John Jr. “Bud” Read. <br> <br> <br> Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. with a funeral service Friday at 3:00 p.m., Rev. Donald Miller officiating, all held at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst 902-667-9906. <br> <br>Family flowers only by request.
