<div itemprop="description">It is with profound sadness that the family of Barton Keith Remington age 45 of Calgary, AB and formerly of Amherst, announce his sudden passing in Calgary. <br /> <br />Born in Amherst, he was a son of Jerry and Kathy (Brown) Remington of Amherst. <br /> <br />Barton worked as a pressman at the Amherst Daily News and later in Halifax and Calgary. <br /> <br />He was an avid sports fan, coming up the ranks of the minor baseball and hockey systems. A true Red Sox and Maple Leaf fan to the end. <br /> <br />In the past 15 years he enjoyed golfing and camping. <br /> <br />Besides his parents, he will be sadly missed by two sons, Kyle (Lacey) Remington of Amherst and their children Phoenix, Camden, Gage and Gavin and Nicholas Remington of Halifax, and his son Jagger, two sisters Tena Remington (Peter Hagan) and Carey Remington both of Halifax, two brothers Jay (Lorrie) Remington of Ottawa, ON and Corey (Lisa) Remington of Amherst. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins along with his special friend Judy Bastedo of Calgary. <br /> <br />Barton is predeceased by a nephew Conor, his paternal grandparents James and Annie Remington and John Leslie and Anita Brown. <br /> <br />Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS. (902-667-9906) <br /> <br />Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. <br /> <br />Memorial donations in Barton&rsquo;s memory may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society or the charity of your choice. <br /> <br />Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca <br /> <br /></div>
