Richard Kendall age 69 of Amherst announce his passing on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS after a courageous battle with cancer. <br /> <br />Born in Amherst on June 24, 1945, he was a son of the late Bev and Dorothy (Rogers) Kendall. <br /> <br />He was a collectables and antique dealer who was well known in the antique auction community. Richard operated Kendall&rsquo;s Collectables for several years in Amherst. His father&rsquo;s interest in stamp collecting was passed on to Richard and he then raised it from a hobby to business. <br /> <br />His love for animals led him to being an avid supporter of the local L.A. Animal Shelter and Cat-Rescue-Maritimes commonly known as CARMA. <br /> <br />Richard is survived by his sister Beverly (Bill) Kempt of Pugwash, brother David of Calgary, AB, special friend Verna Dowe of Amherst and nieces Maylia, Erin and Tammy and nephews Brandon and Bobby. <br /> <br />Cremation has taken place. <br /> <br />An informal gathering will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2 &ndash; 4 p.m. in Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst. (902-667-9906) <br /> <br />During the gathering his brother David will share a reflection of Richard&rsquo;s life at 3 p.m. <br /> <br />Memorial donations in Richard&rsquo;s memory may be made to the L.A.
