<div itemprop="description"><br /> <br />It is with broken hearts that the family of Desmond (Desi) Joseph Hurley age 51, of Fenwick Road, Nappan announce his passing on December 7, 2015 at home. <br />Born in Amherst, he was a son of Desmond and Joanne (Burke) Hurley. <br />Desi initially in partnership with his father until 2012, owned and operated D &amp; D Auto Repair in Upper Nappan. <br />He took great pride in what he did and was very dedicated to those he served. <br />Desi was an avid sports enthusiast and recently enjoyed curling and golfing and was a member of the Slow-pitch League years past. His favourite pastime was watching and attending Nascar Races but mostly he enjoyed being with family and friends and 4 wheeling taking many weekend trips. <br />He will be sadly missed and remembered as a loving husband, son, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. <br />Desi is survived by his wife Kelley (Brine) Hurley of 27 years, sons Nathan and Brodie both at home, brothers Jeff (Rosann) of Beaverbank, Jason (Nicole) of Amherst and sister Donna (Scott) Brown of Sackville, NB, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. <br />He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents James and Margaret Hurley and his maternal grandparents Fred and Florence Burke. <br />Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 7 &ndash; 9 p.m. with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. all in Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906) <br />Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, Joggins with Father Vernon Driscoll officiating. <br />Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice. <br />Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting Campbell&rsquo;s Facebook page. <br /></div>
