<div itemprop="description"> <p> It is with great sadness that the family of the late Donna Edna Irene Nichols, nee MacPhee age 67, announces her sudden passing on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. </p> <p> She was born in Hamilton, ON, June 15, 1945, the daughter of the late Ivan and Irene MacPhee. </p> <p> Donna lived in Hamilton, ON for many years before moving to Nova Scotia. She was previously employed by Oxford Frozen Foods. </p> <p> Donna was an avid member and Score Keeper for the Thursday Night Bowling League. Besides bowling, Donna enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She volunteered on a regular basis for the St. John Ambulance Brigade and was awarded the Maltese Cross and the Volunteer Service Cross for over 1000 hours of service. </p> <p> Donna is survived by her partner Lloyd E. Fraser, Amherst and her three children, Bonnie (Gerry), Kim (Frank), and Tim. Stepson, Keith (Kim) Thornton, Owen Sound, ON, Grandchildren, Sara, Ariel, Heather and Kyle and Step-Granddaughter, Sydney of Owen Sound. </p> <p> She also leaves to mourn, her loving sister Mary (Clay) Sargeant of Ontario. Half -sister, Tammy MacPhee and Half-brother, Ivan MacPhee as well as Sister-in-laws Elizabeth Moore (Cecil deceased), Oxley Beach, NS, Jean (Rod) Miller, Brookdale, NS, the Rev. Carolyn (Victor) MacLeod, Jackson&rsquo;s Point, NS, Donald (Gloria) Fraser, Hamilton ON , Sister-in-law Gloria Fraser (Delbert - deceased) and Brother-in-law Allan Conklin (Marilyn - deceased) both of Amherst. She is also survived by many relatives. </p> <p> Her body has been donated to the Dalhousie Medical Science Centre in Halifax, NS. Interment will take place at a later date following cremation when her ashes will be returned for burial. </p> <p> A Memorial Service will be held at Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS&nbsp; (Tele: 667-9906) on Tuesday March 12 at 10 am with the Rev. Carolyn (Fraser) MacLeod officiating. A Reception and a time for visitation will be held following the Memorial Service next door at the Knight of Columbus Hall.&nbsp; Memorial donations in Donna&rsquo;s memory may be made to the Diabetic Association, the Amherst VON or a charity of your choice.
