<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that the family of Dorothy Elizabeth Jones age 102 of Amherst announce her passing on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at Gables Lodge, Amherst, NS. <br> <br>Born in Amherst she was a daughter of the late Henry and Elsie (Talbot) Jones. <br> <br>Dorothy worked for many years for many prominent families in Amherst. She was affiliated with and was one of the main stays of the Highland AME Church, Amherst for many years. <br> <br>She is survived by her children Dianne Wellman of Etobicoke, ON and David (Barbara) Jones of Vancouver, BC, three granddaughters Nina, Karin (Damon) and Jennifer (Ngai) and two great granddaughters Olivia and Charlotte and eight nieces Judy (Brad) Barton, Linda (Lex) Bizzeth, Betty (Robert) Hunt, Adah (Doug) McClellan, Sandra (Dennis) Dickson, Joanne Hayes-Hunter, Janet and Patricia Hayes and two nephews Roderick Lee and Peter Jones and many great nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by three sisters Reta Lee, Ruth Henry and Frances Hayes and one brother Elmer Jones. <br> <br>Visitation will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 6 – 9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902-667-9906). <br> <br>Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Campbell’s Chapel. <br> <br>Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Residents Council at Gables Lodge. <br> <br>Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting Campbell’s Facebook page. <br> <br></div>
