<div itemprop="description"><br> <br> It is with great sadness that we the family of Douglas William Noiles age 74 announce his sudden passing on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at home. <br>Born in Upper Nappan, NS he was a son of the late Ronald and Catherine (Arseneau) Noiles. <br>Doug was a hard worker all his life, starting early in his life working for Elliott Amusements, McInnis’ Car Parts, Robb Engineering and later at the service station on South Albion Street which he later operated as Doug’s Irving. <br>Doug will be remembered fondly by many whom he served with his tireless dedication in helping motorists as Doug’s Service and Towing. <br>His kind heart allowed him to connect with people and to engage in lengthy conversations and stories. <br>Nothing gave him greater pleasure than spending most Saturday nights with his granddaughters after picking up his weekly lottery tickets, pizza and chinese food. <br>Doug will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years Lois (Gallant), sons David, Michael (Amy) and Darren (Drosou) all of Amherst, grandchildren Mackenzie, Maddison, Emily and Meghan, sisters Sandra MacKay and Wendy (John) Fagan both of Hopewell, NS one brother Gerald of Colpitts Settlement, NB and many nieces and nephews. <br>Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by his sister Joan Chapman, brother Harry and infant nephew Delbert Wade Chapman. <br>Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst. <br>Funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, Amherst with Deacon Howard Gotell officiating. <br>Interment will take place in the spring in the St. Charles – Nativity Cemetery, Amherst. <br>Memorial donations in Doug’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, N.S.
