<div itemprop="description">It is with deep sadness the family of Duncan “Rupert” Bliss Ripley age 84 of Nappan announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Gables Lodge, Amherst. <br> <br>Born in Chignecto, he was a son of the late Bradley Duncan and Hazel (Corey) Ripley. <br> <br>After living in Chignecto for a few years, he moved his family to Nappan where Rupert farmed pure bred Herefords and blueberries for 25 years. One of his proud accomplishments was working for CNR for 38 plus years. He first started his career working on highways and helped build the office building at the Experimental Farm in Nappan. He was a former member of the Baptist Church in Maccan and later joined the Nappan United Church. <br> <br>Rupert will be fondly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Bona (Ripley); children, Kevin (Kelly) of May, Texas, Donna-Lee (Freddie) Parsons of Jolicure, NB and Eric (Nancy) of Brockville, ON; grandchildren Nathan (Dave), Jonathan (Kristin) Parsons, Darren (Christina), Mathew (Elizabeth), Adam Parsons, Gregory, Tara-Lee Finkle, Nicholas and Stephanie; 9 great grandchildren; brothers James (Evelyn), Truro, Bradley (Annie Kay), Moncton, NB; sister in-law Trina, Amherst; brother in-law George (Fran) Allaby, Fredericton, NB, and many nieces and nephews. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his son Brian and Brian’s wife Linda; brother Ralph; sister Margaret Rose Allaby; and Jane and William in infancy. <br> <br>Visitations will be held Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from 2 -4 and 7 – 9 pm followed by the funeral service on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. all held at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst. <br> <br>Interment will take place in Fenwick Cemetery. <br> <br>Donations can be made in Rupert’s memory to the Nappan United Church or the Lung Association or to the charity of your choice. <br> <br>Family flowers only. <br> <br>Condolences and sharing of memories can made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting the Funeral Home Facebook page. <br></div>
