<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that the family of Edna Cavel DesBarres, age 77, of River Hebert announce her passing on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst , NS, with her loving family by her side. <br> <br>Born in New Glasgow, NS, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Edith (Fraser) Pennington. <br> <br>Edna was a member of the CWL, Girl Guides as well as many other volunteer organizations. Throughout her career she held many positions as a valued member of the health care profession. She was a faithful member of St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in River Hebert. <br> <br>She will be deeply missed by her husband of 58 years, Charlie; children Andrew (Laurel), Brian (Melody) and Donna (Randy); grandchildren Christopher (Kate), Jenna (Andrew) and Katelyn (Mike); great grandchild Donavon; sister Shirley Pennington; daughter in-law Terri and many nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Visitations will take place on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 - 8 p.m. held at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906. <br> <br>Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert with Father Keith Billard officiating. <br> <br>Interment will take place in the St. Denis Cemetery, following the Mass. <br> <br>Donations can be made in Edna’s memory to the St. Denis Catholic Church, St. Paul’s Catholic Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice. <br> <br>Condolences and sharing of memories may be shared with the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting the Funeral Home Facebook page. <br> <br> <br> <br></div>
