<div itemprop="description">The peaceful death of Elizabeth (Betty) Ruth Jacklin, 84, of Amherst occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, surrounded by her beloved family. <br /> <br />Born March 20, 1929 in Amherst, NS, Betty was a daughter of the late Cecil and Gladys (Spencer) Weatherbee. <br /> <br />In her younger years, Betty worked at Woolworth Department Store, Amherst and managed Bata Shoes. Earlier in life, Betty loved dancing, ice skating with the love of her life, Kenneth. <br /> <br />Shortly after marrying, Kenneth, Betty left the business world and took on the important task of raising her family, along with running her in-home child care for many years. <br /> <br />Betty was very involved with her family, especially her grandchildren, where she kept busy playing video games, watching figure skating, ballroom dancing, curling as well as good times at the beach. <br /> <br />Betty spent the last two months of her life residing happily at Bayview Memorial Nursing Home, Advocate Harbour, where she grew very fond of everyone and never had a single complaint. <br /> <br />She was a caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be dearly missed by all. <br /> <br />She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters, Vanda (Murray) Wilson, and Marla Ash, both of St. John, NB; sons, Paul (Terry) and David (Jean) both of Amherst, Dale (Sandy), Chillawack, BC and Stephen (Michelle), Courtenay, BC; 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; sisters, Beverly Collins, Amherst, Gladys Shay, Sussex, NB, brother Cecil (Irene) Weatherbee, sister and brother in-laws, Polly and Lyman Smith; as well as several nieces, nephews; extended family; and special friend, Alma (Paul) LeBlanc, Fort St. John, BC. <br /> <br />In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth; sisters, Marilyn Gould, Kathleen Hunter and, brothers, Jackie and Carl. <br /> <br />Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. <br /> <br />Funeral service will be celebrated on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. from Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (667-9906) with Rev.
