<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that the family of Frank Rankin Howatt age 83 of Amherst announce his passing on Friday, September 23, 2016. <br> <br>Born in Glenwood, PE, he was a son of the late Angus Rankin and Annie (Easter) Howatt. <br> <br>Frank began his career with the Bank of Nova Scotia and Traders Finance. During his career he held several executive positions with Chrysler Canada and in 1973 he became the owner of Amherst Chrysler Plymouth. Following the sale of the dealership he joined the investment firm Walwyn Stodgell Cochran Murray. He finished his career with Business Development Corporation (BDC). Frank was involved with many community groups such as the Amherst Golf Club, Amherst Junior Ramblers, The Amherst Rotary Club acting as president for several years, Nova Scotia Automobile Dealers’ Association, and the Amherst Curling Club. <br> <br>In his retirement Frank enjoyed woodworking and was recognized for the quality of his work. <br> <br>Frank will be fondly remembered by his wife Arena “Timmy” (Gray); son Wayne (Karen), daughter Cindy (Michael) Barnes; grandsons Evan, Mark and Bradley; brother Charles (Pauline); sisters Jean Farwell and Sally (Ed) Conroy and many nieces and nephews. <br> <br>He was predeceased by brothers Lorne, Doug and Kier. <br> <br>Funeral service will be held Monday, September 26, 2016 at 2 p.m. from Trinity St. Stephen United Church with Rev. Nigel Weaver officiating. <br>Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery. <br> <br>Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St, Amherst, 902-667-9906. <br> <br>Donations can be made in Frank’s memory to the Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetic Association and Cumberland Regional Health Care Foundation. <br> <br>Condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting Campbell’s Funeral Home Facebook page. <br> <br></div>
