Gary Michael Jackson, Amherst, N.S., passed away January 28, 2015 in front of his fireplace in his home with his family by his side. Born June 10, 1951, Gary was the son of the late Bernie and Greta (Fromm) Jackson. Gary will be remembered for many things by many people. For his love of the outdoors and his time spent at Cranberry Lake. For his love of a good cigar and a glass of rum and the place where he could find both of those, Cuba. For the wonderful job he did managing Rideau Pipe. For his late nights in the basement working on his latest wood-working project. For his generosity and hospitality. For his gentle demeanour and dry sense of humour. But most of all, for his love of Susan and the life they shared for 22 years. In Gary's quiet way he has made us all better for knowing him. Surviving Gary is the love of his life, Susan Doncaster. (Amherst). His two daughters, Jennifer and Amy. His brothers Bruce and Brian (Helen Isadore) both of McKenzie BC. His sister Connie (David) Chapman, Tantallon. His brother David (Christine), Mahone Bay. His parents-in-law, Darrell and Joyce Doncaster, Sackville N.B. His sisters-in-law, Terry (Howie Gray) and Heather (Paul) Brown, both of Amherst. His brother-in-law Scott (Vanessa Blanche), Moncton N.B. His Cuban family, Yamier, Dassa, Lucille, Ernesto, Ellana and Pedro. Susan would like to thank Connie and Christine for helping to make Gary's passing easier for both of them. In lieu of a funeral there will be a celebration of an "amazing life of an amazing man", at Gary and Susan's home (11 South Adelaide) on Saturday, January 31,2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to come and share your own memories of this special man.
On line condolences and sharing of memories may be forwarded to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting Campbell’s Funeral Home Facebook page.
