<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that the family of George Eldon Grant age 77 of River Hebert announce his passing on Monday, January 23, 2017 surrounded by his loving family at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Center. <br>Born in River Hebert, he was the son of the late Roy and Ellen (Henwood) Grant. <br>George worked in the coal mines in Joggins, River Hebert and Grande Cache, Alberta for 23 years. He most enjoyed camping, mowing grass and spending time with his grandchildren. <br>He will be deeply missed by his wife Linda (Berry); daughters Angela Grant of Halifax, NS and Kathy (Darren) McDonald of Elmsdale, NS; son Michael of River Hebert; grandchildren David, Madison, Desiree, Zachary, Jessica, Samantha and Ashley. <br>In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by brothers Gordon, Alfred and Bernard; sisters Delores Grant, Annie Hachey, Edith Hayes and Hazel Murphy. <br>Cremation has taken place. <br>A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with funeral service on Saturday at 2 pm, Rev. Kevin Wilson officiating from Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. <br>Interment will take place at a later date in the River Hebert Cemetery. <br>Memorial contributions in George’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice. <br>The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire staff of Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre for the wonderful care provided to George and his family. <br>Condolences and sharing of memories may be shared with the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page. <br> <br></div>
