Harry Newsom
April 13, 1944 - October 7, 2016
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harry Elton Newsom age 72 of Amherst on Friday, October 7, 2016 at the QEII Infirmary, Halifax.
Born in Amherst, he was the son of the late Hanse and Violet (Goodwin) Newsom.
Harry worked for many years at Enamel Heating, Amherst Aerospace and for IMP. He loved listening to country and bluegrass music. One of Harry’s pleasures was spending time at his camp in Tidnish.
Harry will be sadly missed by his special best friend Donna Jackson, friends Kenny (Judy) Canton, Bob (Ida) Davison and special pet Colby.
He was predeceased by his Half-sister June (Ogden) Holiday.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Amherst Cemetery with Rev. Byron Corkum officiating.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst 902-667-9906.
Donations can be made in Harry’s memory to a charity of your choice.
