<div itemprop="description"><br /><br />It is with great sadness that the family of Hattie Bertha O&rsquo;Brien age 77 of Amherst announce her passing on March 27, 2015 at Halifax VG hospital.<br /><br /> Born in Springhill, NS she was a daughter of the late Raymond &ldquo;Fish&rdquo; and Margaret (Bourgeois) O&rsquo;Hearon.<br /><br /> Hattie enjoyed playing darts and for several years she played in the Amherst Dart League, steak darts, and did she ever love to go to the dances at the legion. There was nothing more she enjoyed than making her special cakes (gum drop, banana and some even got her chocolate cake) if she knew there was a benefit going on she would even make cakes for them to raffle off to help raise money. She enjoyed playing cards mainly 45&rsquo;s. Hattie loved her dog Jake and all the dogs she had over the years.<br /><br />She is survived by her son Ricky O&rsquo;Brien (Roxanne) of Amherst, grandson Bradley O&rsquo;Brien (Ashley) of Amherst, two great grandchildren Sydney and Salem, sisters Betty Crowe of Oromocto, NB and Marie Somers of Springhill and many nieces and nephews.<br /><br />Besides her parents, Hattie was predeceased by brother Raymond O&rsquo;Hearon, sisters Dorothy Hayden and Ruth Gouchie and brother in law Jack Crowe.<br /><br />There will be no visitation or funeral service.<br /><br />Memorial donations in Hattie&rsquo;s memory may be made to the L.A. Animal Shelter. <br /><br />A special thank you to the doctors and nurses of the V.G. Hospital and her special friend Gwen Joyce. .<br /><br />Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, Amherst, NS.
