<div itemprop="description">It is with sadness the family of J. Wilmot Young age 93 announce his passing on Saturday April 12, 2014 at High Crest Nursing Home, Springhill, NS. <br /> <br />Born in Springhill, N.S. on July 8, 1920 he was the son of the late James and Elizabeth (Churchill) Young. <br /> <br />After graduating from Springhill High School, he farmed along with his brothers for twenty-five years. He also helped run Young&rsquo;s Tourist Cabins. He worked for two years in Toronto before returning home to work for the Interprovincial School for the Deaf for Twenty years, retiring in 1985 after moving to Amherst in 1973, where he joined Christ Church. Wilmot was an avid baseball and hockey follower especially of the Montreal Canadians. Later years he enjoyed his cottage at Pugwash and gardening and lawn care. He was also a former member of the Orange Lodge in Springhill,NS. <br /> <br />He is survived by his brother Arnold of Springhill; Sister Clara (Emerson) Smith of London, Ont. <br /> <br />He was predeceased by his wife Alma; brother Clyde Young and sister in- law Eudora Young. <br /> <br />A visitation will take place at Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 98 Church St, Amherst (667-9906) on Monday, April 14, 2014 from 1 - 2pm followed immediately at 2 pm by the funeral service with Archdeacon Glenn Eason officiating. <br /> <br />Burial will take place in Hillside Cemetery, Springhill at a later date. <br /> <br />Donations in Wilmot&rsquo;s memory may be made to Christ Church or the charity of choice. <br /> <br />Condolences may be made to the family via: www.campbellamherst.ca <br /> <br /></div>
