<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jean Alma Milton age 103 of Amherst announce her passing on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at Gables Lodge, Amherst. <br> <br>Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Morley and Agnes (Bishop) McLaughlin. <br> <br>Jean was a lifelong member of the Pythian Sisters and enjoyed playing Bridge and 45’s. She was active in a knitting group who made mittens and other knitted items for the Bridge Workshop in Amherst. <br> <br>Jean graduated from Amherst High School and then graduated from St. Charles Commercial School. <br> <br>She worked as a bookkeeper and private secretary for Amherst Footwear and later for Brookfield Creamery retiring in 1978. <br> <br>Jean will be sadly missed by her children Carolyn (Raymond) Ripley of Amherst and Roger (Beverly) Hanright of Florida, grandchildren Karen, Stephen, Gordon, Christopher, Carrie Jean, Sandra, Kimberly, Jennifer and Mark, 12 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren and 1 niece and 1 nephew. <br> <br>She was predeceased by her first husband Arnold Hanright, her second husband Harry Milton, daughter Jeanette Tuinman, brothers Donald (Jean) and Ivan (Margaret) McLaughlin and sister Evelyn. <br> <br>A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the Amherst Cemetery with K.
