<div itemprop="description">It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jean Lorraine Raddin age 77 of Amherst on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan, surrounded by her loving family. <br> <br>Jean was born in Scotchtown, Cape Breton, NS and was a daughter of the late John and Josephine “Ina” (Hamilton) Chesal. <br> <br>Jean taught school for many years at the junior high level and truly enjoyed her teaching years. <br>She had a great love for traveling and visited many friends near and far. In her spare time she liked crocheting, quilting, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters. <br> <br>Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Gary; sons, Mark (Susan), and Glen (Lynn), both of Amherst; daughter, Betty Jo (Phillip) Raddin, Owen Sound, ON; special granddaughters, Angela, Amy, Crystal and Tara; as well as nine great grandchildren; sister, Betty Tatlock, Scotchtown, NS; brothers, Andrew (Shirley) Scotchtown, NS and Richard (Sandie), Hamilton, ON; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family. <br> <br>In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her brothers, Sonny, Robert, and Mark. <br>Cremation has taken place. <br> <br>Family and Friends are invited to a time of visitation on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with funeral service on Sunday at 3 pm, with reception to follow all from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jean’s memory may be to the Canadian Red Cross or charity of your choice. <br> <br>On line condolences & sharing of memories may be forwarded via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting the funeral home Facebook page. <br></div>
