<div itemprop="description">It is with saddened hearts that the family of Joseph Walter Goodwin age 94 of Amherst announce his passing on Monday, February 13, 2017 at home. <br>Born in Parrsboro, NS he was a son of the late Walter and Bessie (Perry) Goodwin. <br> <br>In his younger years Joe worked on the family farm in Brookdale before beginning work at Chapel Construction where he was employed for 10 years. For the last 22 years he worked for Irving Oil and for a few years before he retired he was self-employed as a burner service technician. <br> <br>Joe is survived by his companion, Sandy Logan, children, George of South Brook, NS, Linda Estabrooks of Brookdale, Donnie (Rita) of Riverview, NB, Gary (Barb), Betty Goodwin and Larry (Daphne) all of Brookdale and Cindy (Tim) of Chignecto, grandchildren Angela (Harvey), Heidi (Tim), Della (Marc), Jason (Shauna), Kevin, Jamie (Rosie), Shawn, Shannon (Bryce) and Jake (Iesha), great grandchildren Titus, Wyatt, Dexter, Harley, Cody, Damon, Mia, Nova, Evan, Haley and Sadie; one great great grandchild Noah and one step grandson Oliver. <br> <br>Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his wife Lula (Reid) one son Joey, grandchildren Mark, Michelle and Stephen and daughter in laws Mary Lou Goodwin and Judy Goodwin. <br> <br>Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 2-4 and 7 – 9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS (902-667-9906). <br> <br>Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home Chapel. <br> <br>Memorial donations in Joe’s memory may be made to the Cumberland VON or the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre Palliative Care Unit. <br> <br>Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting Campbell’s Facebook page. <br> <br> <br></div>
