<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness the family of Lloyd Lester Langille age 80 of East Amherst announce his peaceful passing at home on Sunday, February 12, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. <br> <br>Born in New Glasgow, he was the son of the late Lloyd Langille and Gertrude (Cavanagh) Langille. <br> <br>He will be dearly missed by his wife of 58 years, Mary (D'orsay), sons Bill (Diane), JJ and daughters Luann and Joanne (Jim) Skinner, granddaughter Nicole (David) Hopkins, great grandchildren, twins, Sam and Dia Hopkins and sister Pennee Brodie, sisters-in-law Ruth Ackles, Joyce Cove and Cheryl D'orsay, brothers-in-law Dale Ackles, Earl Cove and George D'orsay. He also leaves behind his beloved grand-dogs, Lucee, Vinnie, Rocco, Jacks, Reid, Randy, Bella and Stewie, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his parents and his step-mother Margeurite (Wombolt). <br> <br>As a child, Lloyd enjoyed many summers at his family cottage in Seagrove. In later years he spent summers at Tidnish River. He enjoyed boating on the river and his winters traveling to Florida with his good friend, Ron White. Lloyd attended school in Amherst and played many sports for high school teams. Lloyd formed a construction company in 1971 building many fine homes in Amherst and surrounding areas, mainly the housing development on D'Orsay Road in the 1970s and 1980s, retiring in 2001. Lloyd's proudest years were when he worked with his two sons, Billy and JJ. Prior to that, Lloyd worked at Robb's Engineering and Atlantic Wholesalers. He was also involved in Amherst minor hockey system as coach and served on the executive. He was a member of the Old Amherst Seniors Ramblers in the 50s and a member of the Amherst St. Pat's Intermediate hockey team winning the Maritime Championship in 1957. Continuing with his love of hockey, he was a member and captain of the Amherst MacDonalds Funtimers travelling throughout the Maritimes and creating many lasting friendships. <br> <br>Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. held at Campbellā€™s Funeral Home, 98 Church St. Amherst, 902-667-9906, with Rev.
