<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness the family of Norma Jean (Gallant) Elliott age 71 of Amherst Head announce her passing on Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre surrounded by family.<br /><br />Born in Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Gwen (Ivany) Gallant.<br /><br />Norma worked for many years at TD Bank before retiring. She spent many years volunteering at the Amherst hospital and the Salvation Army. She enjoyed knitting and giving the articles to people who needed them. Norma loved her cottage and camping. She spent many years hosting and enjoying bluegrass gatherings. <br /><br />Survived by partner Bob Grimmett, her children Grace Elliott (Wade), Frank Elliott (Dawn), Jennifer Elliott (Doug), grandchildren Justin Chapman, Chloe Chapman and Allie Gallagher, Bob&rsquo;s children Ronda Beal and George (Kelly) Grimmett, Brothers Garnet, Ralph and John, sisters Sheila and Janet and close cousin and friend Evelyn as well as other cousins and many nieces and nephews. <br /><br />Donations in Norma&rsquo;s memory may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of your choice.<br /><br />Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 7 &ndash; 9pm at Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, Amherst.<br /><br />A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 2 pm at Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Chapel (98 Church St, Amherst) with Mrs. Ruth Gamble officiating.<br /><br />Interment will take place at a later date in Shinimicas Cemetery.<br /><br />A reception will follow the service in the funeral home and a gathering at Cowboy Town in Brookdale.<br /><br />Condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca. <br /><br /></div>
