<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Orphir John Frenette at age 83, of Amherst, NS, on May 27th, 2015 after a lengthy illness. His final days were spent at Gables Lodge Nursing home, surrounded by his loving family.<br /><br />Born in Petit Rocher, N.B, he was the son of the late Frank Frenette, and Alice (Arseneau) Frenette. He was a faithful member of Holy Family Church, The Knights of Columbus and the 50+ Club. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling and playing guitar, as well as spending summers at his cottage in Petit Rocher. He worked at IMP for over 40 years, where he retired in 1996.<br /><br />He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Roy) Frenette, 4 daughters; Yvette Waldron (Jamie) of Beaver Bank, N.S., Muriel Morrison (Paul), of Amherst, N.S., Carol Beal of Amherst, N.S. and Norma Stevens (Mark), of Oxford, N.S.; 3 sons, Paul (Rose) of Brookdale, N.S., Gerry (Leonora) of Innisfil, Ont. and Andrew (Karen) of Brookdale, N.S.; 10 grandchildren, Steven (Carrie Rhindress) of Salem, N.S., Stacey O'Neil (Brad) of Amherst, N.S., Amika of Brookdale, N.S., Angela Ripley of Lower Sackville, N.S., Kelly Ripley (Jeff Bourque) of Ottawa, Ont., Jeff Ripley of Halifax, N.S., Corey (Corina De Smet) of Bedford, N.S., Tyler (Becky Gould) of Amherst, N.S., Sarah (J.C. Chenard) of Brookdale, N.S., Caitlin Beal (Ian Smith) of Amherst, N.S.; 4 step-grandchildren, Jennifer Comeau (Paul Beranger) of Halifax, N.S., Melissa Lawrence (Tim) of Halifax, N.S., Nathan Waldron of Lower Sackville, N.S. and Nadene Gillis (Jonny) of Kinsac, N.S.; 5 great-grandchildren, Donovan Frenette, Justin Ripley, Caelyn Omand, Jayd'n Omand and Bryson O'Neil; 5 step great-grandchildren, Austin and Makayla Lawrence, Keegan, Chattan and Hugh Gillis; 1 sister, Rosalie Primeau (Raymond) of Onaping, Ont.; 2 brothers, Alderic (Ann Marie) of Pointe Verte, N.B. and Leon of Petit Rocher, N.B., as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. <br /><br />Besides his parents, he was pre-deceased by 2 sisters, Esther McGraw and Lorraine Chiasson and 4 brothers, Armand, Alban, Anselme and Raoul.<br /><br />Visitation will be held at Campbell's Funeral home in Amherst on Sunday, May 31st from 2-4PM and 7-9PM with Parish Prayers at 8:30PM. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church on Monday, June 1st at 10AM officiated by Father Vernon Driscoll, followed by a reception in the Church Hall. <br /><br />In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society, Diabetic Association or the charity of your choice. <br /><br />Condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting our Facebook page.<br /><br /></div>
