Randolph Borden (Martin)
August 19, 1940 - February 13, 2014
It is with great sadness that the families of Randolph Thomas Borden (Martin) age 73 of Amherst announce his sudden passing on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at home.
Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Thomas and Amelia “Doll” (Treadwell) (Borden) Martin.
He worked for G.L. Angus in Amherst during the winter months and for many years with Elliott Amusement during the summer months. He was an avid lover of baseball and hockey.
Randy is survived by his common law wife Phyllis Simmons, four sisters Bertha Martin of Ottawa, Liz Tynes of Halifax, Joanne McFarlane of Amherst and Sharon (Geoff) Botting of Kingston, ON, seven brothers Robert (Lila) Martin of Bramalea, ON, Gordie (Margaret) Martin of Thompson, Manitoba, Andrew, Johnny, Brian, Arthur (Donna) and George (Ruth) Martin all of Amherst and many nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by many step children and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his step father Andy Martin.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS. (667-9906)
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Amherst Wesleyan Church with Rev. Raymond Fancy officiating.
Interment will take place in the spring in the Amherst Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Randy’s memory may be made to the Amherst Wesleyan Church Building Fund or the Canadian Diabetic Association.
