<div itemprop="description">It is with great sadness that the family of Ruth Elizabeth Brown, age 82, of Amherst announce her sudden passing on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS.<br /><br />Born in Wentworth, NS she was a daughter of the late Leo and Helen ( Kennedy) Yorke.<br /><br />She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ruth enjoyed nothing better than being with family and friends. She loved camping, fishing, snowmobiling, music and playing cards.<br /><br />She will be sadly missed by her daughter Carolyn Thompson of Amherst and her children, Andrew (Jane) Thompson and their son Jack of Dartmouth and Mitchell (Melanie) and their daughter Leah of Brookdale, her son David (Ruth) Brown and their children, Jordan and Emily all of Amherst.<br /><br />Ruth is also survived by her brother Jim Yorke of Tatamagouche, her sister Donna (Roy) Richards of Bridgewater, sisters-in-law Hazel Yorke of New Glasgow and Lillian Brown of Amherst and several nieces and nephews.<br /><br />Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Rupert, brothers Wilfred and Keith, sister Velma and brother-in-law Harold Brown.<br /><br />Visitation will be held on Thursday from 7 &ndash; 9 p.m. in Campbell&rsquo;s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst, NS. (902-667-9906) <br /><br />Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 1 p.m. in Campbell&rsquo;s Chapel with K. Ruth Gamble DLM officiating.<br /><br />Interment will take place in the Upper Wentworth Cemetery.<br /><br />Memorial donations in Ruth&rsquo;s memory may be made to the Cumberland Hospice Society.<br /><br />Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or Campbell&rsquo;s Facebook Page.<br /><br /></div>
