<div itemprop="description"><br> After a long and courageous battle it is with heavy hearts that the family of Stella Mildred Gabriel age 76 of Joggins announce her passing on Saturday, August 06, 2016 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan, NS. <br>Born in Joggins on January 5, 1940, she was a daughter of the late James and Sophie (Hebert) Reid. <br>Stella was a stay at home Mom until her children were older. At that point, she worked with her husband Elmore in the carpentry and repair business. <br>She leaves to mourn her husband Elmore, daughters Sherry Gabriel of Joggins, Catherine (Kenneth) Walsh of Maccan, Heather Gabriel and Nicole (Anthony) Treadwell both of Amherst, sons Laurie of Parrsboro and Kevin (Cheryl) of Summerside, PEI, 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, brothers James (Carmel) and Roy (Bernadette) both of Joggins, sisters Jeanette (Calvin) Potter of Elliott Lake, ON and Terry Pettigrew of Amherst, a special friend Gloria “Jeannie” Gabriel and several nieces and nephews. <br>Besides her parents, Stella was predeceased by an infant daughter Roberta, 2 great grandsons Blake and Ryder, brothers Wayne and Gordon Reid and sisters Elizabeth Blakeman and Sheila Ann Starr. <br>A special thank you to Dr. Frizzle, Dr. Gradstein, Dr. Bobadilla, Dr. Short and the Palliative Care Team of Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre as well as Becky Baker of the VON. <br>A private Celebration of Life for Stella’s immediate family will be held at a later date. <br>Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, IWK, Kidney Foundation of Canada, Palliative Care Unit of Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre or the charity of your choice. <br>Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell’s Funeral Home, Amherst (902-667-9906). <br>Online condolences and sharing of memories may be made to the family via: www.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting Campbell’s Facebook page. <br> <br></div>
