<div itemprop="description"><br>Thelma Agnes (Rose) Pond age 92 of Amherst passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Gables Lodge. <br>Born in Brookdale, NS she was a daughter of the late Clifford Milton and Agnes Dora (Gould) Rose. <br>Thelma’s life began at her family farm in Brookdale, and later moved with her young family to Amherst, then to Sackville, NB where her husband G. Roy Pond, was a Professor at Mount Allison University. <br>Moving to Halifax in 1968, Thelma continued her education proudly attending every University in Halifax, achieving several degrees, including a Master of Education from Dalhousie University. Thelma also received a scholarship to study Psychology in Switzerland and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from University de Moncton. <br>Thelma was an independent woman who didn’t depend on anyone. She loved her brother and her family dearly. Thelma owned many dog over her life and loved all animals, especially Sandy. She loved gardening, shopping, crafts of any kind, cards, music, singing, dancing and playing the piano. <br>Thelma will be lovingly remembered by her brother, Burton Walter (Jean) Rose, Brookdale; three daughters, Mary Elizabeth (Mike) Whittleton, Sackville, NB, Charlotte Anne Pond (Al), Montreal, PQ and Ruth Louise (Paul Kirk) Pond, Amherst; eight grandchildren, John Stanley, Sarah Rose, Molly Elizabeth, Peter Michael, Jacob Joseph, Heather Rose, Rachel Marie, and Elizabeth Anne; three great grandchildren; Philip Stanley, Edmund Peter, and Scarlett Mae; as well as special nephew and niece Cliff and Joyce, and many wonderful cousins. <br>In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Jean and Beatrice Muriel. <br> A time of visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 6:30 -8:00 pm at Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. Funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday at 2:00 pm from Holy Family Roman Catholic Church with Deacon Howard Gotell presiding with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery. <br>In lieu of floral tributes, memorial contributions in Thelma’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society, or any Animal Shelter of your choice. <br>Online condolences & sharing of memories may be forwarded via: wwww.campbellsamherst.ca or by visiting funeral home Facebook page. <br></div>
