<div itemprop="description">It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Shirley Barbara Babcock age 90 of Amherst on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan. <br> <br>Born in Sommerville, Mass. USA, and formerly of Hillsborough, NB and Amherst, she was the daughter of the late Milton and Lillian (Jonah) Terris. <br> <br>She was a loving dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother. <br> <br>Shirley worked tirelessly alongside her late husband David in the family trucking business Babcock’s Transfer Ltd (Freight and furniture moving) which operated in Amherst for 40 years. <br> <br>She enjoyed bowling, dancing, working in her flower garden and travelling abroad with her husband. <br> <br>Shirley will be sadly missed by her daughters Barbara Cook of Amherst, Lily (David) Adams of Salisbury, NB, one son David Babcock of Amherst, 8 grandchildren, Ronnie, Robbie, Nancy, Joanie, Jamie, David, Amanda and Katie, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. <br> <br>She is also survived by three sisters, Florence Anderson and Geraldine (Kenneth) Corey both of Amherst and Greta (Donald) MacLeod of Truemanville as well as several nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Besides her parents, Shirley was predeceased by her husband David, sisters, Marion Parks and Jean Latta, and son in law Ronald Cook. <br> <br>A celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held on Saturday, April, 8, 2017 between the hours of 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. from Campbell’s Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst (902) 667-9906. A private interment will take place at a later date in the Amherst Cemetery. <br> <br>Family flowers only please.
